The Discs on Demand Pty Ltd system is a complete solution
for transferring from live TV to DVD.
Orders for the programs wanted on DVD are initially placed through the broadcasters website, then all website maintenance,
charging, automatic production, and mailing
is done by the duplicator.
Downloading video is great, but with limitations, especially for the technically challenged.
Streaming a video is great, but a 2 inch picture does not show the full video experience, and it can only be seen on a computer. There will be some time before bandwidth is sufficient to allow widespread high quality real time video downloading.
PVR and VCR are great, provided the viewer remembers to set the recorder, or was even aware that the program was going to be broadcast.
Because there is a demand for previously broadcast video, illegal downloading through technologies such as Bit torrent is growing, and is a threat to video as music has been challenged by their slow response to technology.
DVD is the most acceptable way of watching video. The quality is great in MPEG-2, universal and simple to operate, and it plays on a standard TV, and it can be copy protected.
The Discs on Demand Pty Ltd system will deliver DVD quality copies of local TV broadcasts where the TV broadcaster has the rights to transfer and supply on DVD. A day after broadcast material that can legally be supplied on DVD can be in the post on the way to the viewer. The broadcaster has total control over which programs are made available.
Discs-on-Demand Pty Ltd system does not necessarily remove the advertising, making the system more appealing to broadcasters and their advertisers.
The viewer can order a whole series in advance, and have it shipped as it is broadcast, or wait until the disc is full. The system allows the customer to combine two or more programs, up to two hours per DVD, to offer better value.
Discs-on-Demand Pty Ltd arranges the entire production, paying for all materials and systems, and the GROSS amount charged will be split between the duplicator and the broadcaster.
Now that the high definition format has been decided, the Discs-on-Demand Pty Ltd system will be able to offer HD discs as the players become more popular.
The Discs-on-Demand Pty Ltd system is for sale and licensing to disc duplicators worldwide
